OBJECTIVE: This article provides instructions on how to manage preferences on the Caregiver profile to support Caregiver matching in HHAeXchange.
Caregiver Preferences are available on the Preferences module located in the Caregiver's profile. The page is comprised of two sections: Preferences (Used for Scheduling) and Preferences (Not Used for Scheduling). This information serves as a scheduling tool to ensure Patients are comfortable receiving service from the Caregiver assigned to them based upon selected attributes. This section covers how to indicate a Caregiver’s preferences and how these preferences are used to schedule.
Preferences Used for Scheduling
The following preferences should be used for scheduling. If a Patient has the same preferences selected on their profile, the pair could be matched for scheduling.
Preferences Not Used for Scheduling
The following preferences are only used for reference, not for scheduling.
When updating Preferences, click Save to ensure the preferences are updated.
NOTE: The Patient Special Requests page in the Patient Profile is identical to the to the preferences on the Preferences page on the Caregiver Profile.
By selecting one or more of these preferences used for scheduling, the list of applicable Caregivers will narrow to help identify the best suited caregiver for the patient when filling an open shift.
For example, if the Patient has a respiratory-related condition and wants a caregiver that does not smoke, “client does not smoke/ caregiver does not smoke” should be selected.
If a preference is not listed, use the Others text field to add more detail.
